Me & Gracie- Kai York Inspired Shoot

For the last several years I’ve wanted to shoot with a female bodybuilder & a horse. Kai York has been my favorite photographer since I downloaded Instagram in 2013. I've wanted to do a shoot inspired by his work, but with my own flair, adding a horse. After many failed attempts with several models, I decided to just do it myself.

From 16-19 years old I was a competitive bodybuilder. I competed in the figure division & won several classes and overall awards. Just like riding & showing horses, bodybuilding has had a huge impact on my life and helped shape me into the person I am now. The reason why I wanted to do this shoot so much was because it combined all three of my passions: horses, bodybuilding & photography.

I’m pleasantly surprised with how well these photos turned out (I had high expectations after dreaming about a shoot like this for so many years) & very thankful to have a friend like Blake who was able to help me execute this vision!

And of course I had to get a few branding photos with my camera while I had my hair looking nice!
