Ready to Rebrand?

Rebranding as a photographer is a powerful way to refresh your business, attract new clients, realign your business's vision, cater to a new niche, and stand out from your competitors (but if you know me, you know I don't believe in competition between photographers- we're all fam!).

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you with the process of a rebrand:

1. Define Your New Brand Identity

  • Clarify your vision and mission: stories sell! Write your brand's why in a compelling story, then write it again in at least 3 other ways. Tell that story as many times as you can throughout your website, social media, and overall marketing.

  • Identify your target audience: if you know who you'll be selling to, you can speak directly to them in every aspect of your business.

2. Refine Your Portfolio

  • Curate your best work: Focus on photos that reflect the new brand identity and only show what you want to sell more of in the future! Need help? Read this post to do a self portfolio review!

  • Plan styled shoots: Set up styled shoots that reflect your new brand and new target audience to promote your rebrand.

3. Refresh Your Brand Aesthetics

  • Logo and color scheme: Work with a professional graphic designer to create a new logo and color scheme.

  • Update logo & colors everywhere: update your branding colors and logos in all your backend accounts like Canva (all your graphic design/marketing content), Dubsado (client management system), Pic-Time (gallery delivery site), FloDesk (newsletters).

  • Do a branding photoshoot: You'll need new headshots and various images of yourself at work for your website and social media. Choose outfits, a setting, and photographer that match your new brand aesthetic.

  • Redesign your website: Refresh every single page of your website with your new branding. Include a new tagline and brand statement on relevant pages.

  • Revamp social media: Adjust your bio, update your profile image, and begin posting content that reflects your rebrand.

4. Craft a Marketing Strategy

  • Announce the rebrand: Share a series of posts and/or a blog post explaining the rebrand and showcasing the inspiration behind your new focus. Use behind-the-scenes on stories for a personal touch.

  • Run targeted ads: Now that you know your exact target audience, you can run Facebook ads to reach them.

  • Ensure an excellent client experience: have a clear, simple, and engaging client experience that makes people keep coming back for more and/or refer their friends.

  • Gather and showcase testimonials: Post reviews from clients who align with your new brand to help attract similar clients.

5. Track and Adjust

  • Measure your analytics: Track inquiries, bookings, and audience growth to ensure they align with your new goals.

  • Gather feedback: Talk to clients, a coach, or trusted industry peers to get feedback on the new brand and adapt based on what resonates most.
